Balance and Support Life with Bedroom Feng Shui

The Importance of Your Bedroom Environment

Why Focus on Your Bedroom Feng Shui?

Today, we are going in depth into your bedroom. And here’s why:

  • You spend more time in your bed than anywhere else.

  • Your energy is rejuvenated at night.

  • Your bedroom sets the tone for your relationships.

Striving for Balance and Support

In your bedroom, balance is so important. When I say balance, I almost want you to see the sign of Libra with the two scales in your head.

If we are looking at the sign of Libra again, the two scales on either side should be level and even.  In your bedroom, the scales are represented by nightstands. A matching nightstand on either side of the bed will help keep you - and your relationships - balanced and harmonious.

If the nightstands are the scales, the headboard is the middle bar that holds and anchors the scales.  A solid headboard that supports you and your bed is so important.  That headboard gives the support you need while you sleep.

Creating Balance in Your Bedroom

Balance is a fundamental aspect of a harmonious bedroom environment. When thinking about balance, imagine the Libra sign, which features two scales perfectly level and even. This imagery helps to envision the equilibrium that should be present within your personal space.

In your bedroom, the concept of balance is physically represented by the nightstands. Having a matching nightstand on either side of your bed serves as the two scales of Libra, promoting a sense of balance and stability. This arrangement is not only aesthetically pleasing but also supports balance within your relationships and personal well-being. The symmetry created by these nightstands helps to foster harmony, making your bedroom a more peaceful sanctuary.

While the nightstands symbolize balance, the headboard takes on the role of the central bar that anchors the scales. A sturdy, supportive headboard is essential because it provides a strong foundation for both you and your bed. The headboard offers the support you need during sleep.

By combining balanced nightstands and a solid headboard, you establish a bedroom that nurtures both physical and emotional support.

And before we go any further, I want to let you know that these feng shui rules apply to you whether you are single or attached.

Key Elements for Your Bedroom

After you get your headboard and nightstands situated, then you can fill in the rest. The nightstands should also have matching or similar lamps on them for light. For the best energy, no light should be above your head, so the nightstand is the perfect place for lighting in the bedroom.

Next, you can add pairs of things in your room and symbols of love. Pairs of items, such as artwork or trinkets work well for relationship and romance feng shui. For the best romance feng shui, a pair of mandarin ducks is believed to bring the best luck.

For symbols of love, look to your wedding photos (if married) or inspiring artwork that fills you with the “love” feeling.  And while you’re at it, make sure everything you choose is calming and enjoyable.

Finally, no mirrors in the bedroom. Reflecting the bed in feng shui is said to “invite in a third party”.  And unless you are into that kind of thing, I highly recommend no mirrors.  Infidelity and affairs are not fun to hear about from clients that valued their big mirrors over their energetic hygiene.

To recap, here is everything we do to increase chi in the bedroom:

  1. Headboard

  2. Balanced Nightstands

  3. Pairs of things

  4. Symbols of love

  5. No mirrors that reflect the bed

Additional Tip for Your Bedroom Sanctuary

It’s best to keep pictures of your (or any) children out of the bedroom. Think of the space as a sanctuary for you and your partner’s love to grow. Also, consider the eyes in pictures as real—do you really want your children “watching” what you do in the bedroom? No. The answer is no.

Enjoy that good chi!

Now that you have some quick tips for improving the energy while you sleep – and in your bedroom in general – go relax and enjoy!
